Modest Hospital Gowns

While the U.S. argues about health care reform and Blue Cross Anthem raises rates a shocking 39%, somehow our "socialist" brothers across the Atlantic are able to implement better hospital gowns.

The British government of Bristol, England commissioned designers to develop a better hospital gown. The U.S. born designer Ben deLisi, who has designed for Kate Winslet and other stars came up with a luxury cotton wrap around gown that limits exposure.

Health Minister Ann Keen said the designer gowns would be introduced into NHS hospitals in England by early 2011.

The hideous, ill fitting old gowns will be replaced by the new gowns

I think the open-back gowns were designed to facilitate bedpan use and cleaning, and perhaps access for rear end shots. The new design will look better when walking the hall, but mght be more of a problem for health care workers.

When I was in the hospital I wore two of those crazy open in the back gowns. One tied in front to over the opening in the back. It worked but what a waste. I like the new design. It isn't exactly high fashion but it is an improvement.

My doctor has the best option with fresh clean white elegant spa robe that are warm for cold winter exams. It is nice but probably costly for them with the cleaning bill.

You'll love this one, doc. Today my friend's daughter had an asthma attack (brought on by lice treatment). Despite the blizzard, the PCP listed on their family's insurance card was open. However, the practice would not see her daughter because she'd "never been seen before" (though this is an HMO, this practice was assigned to them, and they can't see anyone else before seeing the PCP). My friend called Aetna to clarify what to do, short of an ER visit. The Aetna rep suggested an urgent care center, but the only one covered in their plan was 43 miles away. "We're having a blizzard here, you know". No, the Aetna rep didn't know that - she was answering their 800 number from The Philippines. !!!

Country Midwife: I am gnashing my teeth and hitting my head against the wall. A story like that is so outrageous it must be true. We can only hope things will improve because the system is so damn broken now. Thanks.

Thank goodness for common sense. Hopefully we will follow in the UK. You already feel bad being in a hospital and then the humiliation of having your bottom hanging out.. is just tooooooo much.

I ended up back at an ER with a sadistic psychopathic physician who had engaged in malignant behavior in the past. I complained about him during this second visit, only to have the nurses tell me on discharge that they had "lost" my cell phone, my double D bra and turtleneck shirt. The cop who sent me out to the street in only a thin johnny said to me: "Do you want a blanket to cover the back?" I said: "NO! I want a blanket to cover the front!"

This was one of my more benign ER visits. I'm a physician.

Can I make a suggestion? I believe youve obtained something good here. But what should you added a pair links to a page that backs up what youre saying? Or possibly you could give us one thing to look at, one thing that may connect what youre saying to one thing tangible? Only a suggestion. Anyway, in my language, there aren't much good source like this.

We need a health reform before our system collapses so, I'm so disappointed about tha attitude of certain people that only complains around without bring any solution to this serious situation.

I would definitely have spoken up! If the guy had a legit excuse, like his plane was leaving in 15 mins, he could have at least begged forgiveness. At times like this is when I'm glad those Clear Lanes are coming back...I plan to rejoin

Your weblog is fine. I just wish to comment on the design. Its too loud. Its doing way an excessive amount of and it takes away from what you received to say --which I feel is basically important. I dont know if you happen to didnt suppose that your phrases could maintain everyone attention, however you had been wrong. Anyway, in my language, there aren't a lot good source like this.
